Here is another review totally objective because Shiko Shiko are friends.
Saying that “Best New Bestiole” is bad is a lie.
I know them since years and to be honest until today Shiko Shiko was much more a live experience. We should lock these guys on stage for life. They are made to be on stage and nothing else. On stage they are happy, outside they are sad peoples. (kind of hard to translate my stupid jokes)
You’ll be an idiot to miss them on stage. For the lazy ones, just have a look on their live video on youtube.
Then comes “Best New Bestiole”. That’s it, they got a terrific sound. More than that, they created awesome ambiences.
Their music reminds me of Late Of The Pier, Health and Liars.

I really love the riffs between 0:00 and 1:05 in Masca Masca.
Huge Ambiences in Eleven Turtles In The Pond And Two On The Rock (I give you six month to convince a Café from Lille (City in North of France, where the Shiko shiko live) to give that name to a new cocktail) (thumbs up for Benoit Farine’s performance)
I almost forgot to mention that their artwork is great.
That first album is a killer.
