Baroness is a nice sludge/heavy band.
I discovered first their “Red Album” because of their nice cover.

They are probably nice guys.

More than nice, there is many interesting things in their music : Epic soli (each song) and weird guitar effects (A Horse called Golgotha).
You love ballades ? there is balades (strong ones) : Ogeechee Hymnal.

After the triumphal intro The Sweetest Curse, you’ll find a lot of well-composed songs. Some of them remind me Mastodon (War, Wisdom and Rhyme).

My favorite song is Jake Leg and the part at 0:40 with an interesting built-up.
