Reign Of Terror
(2012, Mom+Pop Records) USA, NY
Second album by Sleigh Bells.
First of all, the artwork and packaging are amazing ! That bloody white pair of shoes makes me think of Andrew WK : Living God among us.
So you’ll notice that album is slower and less noisy than their first one, and that disappointed me a little.
True Shred Guitars may be a great song to start Guitar Hero XIII, but that’s all.
My favorite song on that album is Leader Of The Pack which reminds me the spirit of their fist album. Great melodies.
Still in that vein you’ll find Comeback Kid, a good song.
The double bassdrum in Born To Lose is funny, just I thought that song would be perfect to finish an album.
To conclude, I love how Never Say Die is structured.
Some good songs.

Sleigh Bells is a pop-noise duo from New-York (according to Wikipedia).
I think this music is really innovative, my ex-roomate Jacko introduced me to it a year ago and I was happy to come back to it.
My other friend Maxime just told me that Miller is Poison The Well’s first guitar player ! Amazing 🙂
So they play that kind of lofi heavy rock with some à la Fang Island guitars (Tell’Em) or some others à la Wavves with some southern hiphop rhythmics. (Kids or Riot Rhythm and correct spelling for Rhythm thanks to Amélie M.)
That Lofi stuff makes me think of Atari Teenage Riot (Run The Heart).
Then hail to the amazing Infinity Guitars and its terrific Finale, with a huge videoclip : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfGtB6K8q8k
I don’t really like the end of that album but the first 5 tracks are terrific. A song is even titled with the name of a great photographer.
